The Nanshan Wuri Education & Training Center, abbreviated as ETC, located in the heart of Taichung City, Taiwan, is one of the few educational training facilities in the central region with international and forward-looking features. With its comprehensive audiovisual, hardware and software equipment, and professional management, it provides learners with diverse learning spaces. Surrounded by towering trees and offering a panoramic view, it also provides a serene and focused meeting environment for VIPs, perfectly meeting the needs of various types of events.
In addition to serving as a comprehensive education and training venue for Nanshan Life Insurance employees, the center also provides a professional training venue for domestic and international public and private institutions, business groups, and academic research units. Covering an area of 3,000 ping (approximately 9,917 square meters), with a total floor area of 6,540 ping (approximately 21,546 square meters), it comprises a total of 41 facilities including an international conference hall, classrooms, and meeting rooms, capable of flexibly accommodating venues for 10 to 1000 people. Over the past six years, it has served millions of people, establishing itself as an internationally renowned professional education and training center.
In the face of exacerbated impacts from global climate change, achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 is imperative. We remain committed to our original intention of safeguarding the earth, continuously promoting low-carbon transformation, and collaborating with value chain partners to collectively adapt to and mitigate the damages caused by climate change. In 2022, Nanshan Life Insurance once again obtained the Carbon Footprint Label for "Life Insurance Services" issued by the Environmental Protection Administration, obtaining permission to use the Carbon Reduction Label. The installation of the solar power system at the Nanshan Life Insurance Wuri Education & Training Center has been completed, enabling the center to be powered by green energy and also supply other buildings with solar electricity.
In order to maintain its competitive edge, enhance professional training and nurture more talented people to serve its policyholders and the general public, Nan Shan Life had been planning for the construction of the Nan Shan Education & Training Center for 10 years when the construction officially started in November 2000 at the top of Taichung's beautiful Dadu Mountain.
The $1.1 billion international, forward-looking education and training center, which was inaugurated on December 18, 2002, is not only for the events and meetings held by Nan Shan Life but also for the use of other corporations and the general public.
